I'm fundraising for Fraser Coast Hospice
Fraser Coast Hospice is one of the few community hospices in Australia, providing completely fee-free palliative care for anyone over 18 with a terminal illness. The hospice relies on community support to keep its doors open and ensure every local family can access compassionate end-of-life care.
As fundraising and event coordinator at the Fraser Coast Hospice I understand how much of an impact this facility has on people in our community. Each month, we support between 25 and 30 local clients. And in just 5 years over 900 people have been cared for.
But behind that impact is an important reality. It costs more than $2.3 million each year to operate the Hospice.
The Queensland Government funds around two-thirds of that - but the remaining $800,000 must be raised every year through community and business support. It’s what enables us to continue providing care,at no cost to the families who need it most.
Your donation will help keep hospice care free and accessible for our entire community. Every dollar raised makes a real difference to Fraser Coast families.
