We're thrilled to share some wonderful news with our community: Fraser Coast Hospice has been named the 2025 Health Provider winner at the Fraser Coast Business & Tourism Awards!

CEO-Director of Care Alicia Trimingham-Turl and Founder Jasine Leslie attended the glittering ceremony at the Brolga Theatre in Maryborough on Friday, 21st November, where they accepted the award on behalf of our entire team. The recognition acknowledges our commitment to providing exceptional, fee-free palliative care to Fraser Coast residents facing terminal illness.

Since sharing the news, we've been overwhelmed by the incredible support and congratulations from across our community. Your messages, comments, and well-wishes have reminded us why we do what we do. This award truly belongs to every person who has supported Fraser Coast Hospice on this journey.

A Community Achievement

This award represents far more than recognition for our organisation. It's a celebration of what our community has built together since opening our doors in October 2021. From our dedicated staff and volunteers who provide compassionate care every single day, to our Heroes of Hospice supporters who help to sustain our operations, to the countless families who've trusted us during life's most vulnerable moments, this is everyone's achievement.

When Jasine founded Fraser Coast Hospice after witnessing the lack of appropriate end-of-life care options locally, she envisioned a place where people could experience dignity, comfort, and family connection during their final days. Today, that vision has been validated by our peers and our community as vital healthcare infrastructure for the Fraser Coast.

What This Recognition Means

Being recognised as the region's Health Provider of the year affirms what families have been telling us all along: Fraser Coast is fortunate to have this rare resource. Our six-bed facility fills a critical gap, offering a unique space between hospital and home where professional 24-hour nursing care meets a peaceful, homelike atmosphere.

This award acknowledges the exceptional work happening within our walls every day: the attentive care from our nursing staff, the warm welcomes from our volunteers, the compassionate support we provide families during their most difficult times, and the bereavement services that continue long after we've said goodbye to clients.

Looking Forward

As we celebrate this milestone, we're more committed than ever to our mission. This recognition strengthens our resolve to continue providing the highest quality palliative care whilst building the sustainable funding base needed to serve our community for years to come.

We're particularly grateful for the growing support for our Heroes of Hospice program and the remarkable turnout at community events like our Tree of Light memorial. These connections remind us that Fraser Coast Hospice belongs to this entire region.
