This Christmas season, Fraser Coast Hospice invites you to honour your loved ones through our cherished Tree of Light tradition, returning to Stockland Hervey Bay Shopping Centre throughout November and December.
Following last year's overwhelming response, where over 1,000 heartfelt tributes filled not one, but two trees, we're continuing this meaningful way for our community to remember those who've touched our lives.
How It Works
Whether you're completing your Christmas shopping or simply passing through Stockland, you can pause to participate. For just $5, purchase a remembrance ornament to take home for your own tree, and place a decoration on the Tree of Light in memory of that special person. Each tribute becomes part of our community's shared story of love and loss, creating a beautiful display that reminds us we're not alone in our grief.
Every tribute left on the Tree of Light will be carefully preserved in a special scrapbook kept at Fraser Coast Hospice, ensuring these memories remain part of our hospice's legacy.
More Than a Christmas Decoration
The Tree of Light stands as more than a festive display. It's a symbol of connection across the Fraser Coast, a place where remembrance meets hope, and where every name honoured helps sustain the compassionate care we provide to families facing life's most difficult moments.
When you participate in the Tree of Light, you're not only honouring someone precious to you – you're helping ensure Fraser Coast Hospice can continue being here for local families when they need us most.
Visit This Season
Find our Tree of Light volunteers outside Kmart from 10am–2pm every day from Friday 21 November to Wednesday 24 December. Whether you're remembering someone who received care at our hospice or honouring any loved one you've lost, you're welcome to be part of this touching community tradition.
Last year's incredible response showed us just how much this tradition means to the Fraser Coast community. This year, we're ready to welcome even more families who want to pause, remember, and honour those who've shaped our lives.
The Tree of Light reminds us that whilst grief is deeply personal, we carry it within a community that understands, supports, and remembers alongside us.

With thanks to Dan Filmer, who donates his time to capture and share the heart and soul of our facility and events.
