Sometimes a single day can remind you of everything that's possible when a community comes together with purpose and heart. The second annual EmpowerHer conference did exactly that, raising an extraordinary $10,522 for Fraser Coast Hospice whilst bringing together 111 women for a day of inspiration, connection, and genuine empowerment.
Unstoppable Together
This year's theme couldn't have been more fitting. On 10 October 2025, The Clubhouse in Hervey Bay became a hub of energy and generosity as women from across the Fraser Coast and beyond gathered for what would become the most successful EmpowerHer event yet. The $10,522 raised represents a remarkable 40% increase from the previous year, smashing the 2024 total of $7,500.
"To see 111 women come together with such generosity and enthusiasm has been truly humbling," said Kylie Hunt, founder of BiziWomen Connect. "When empowered women unite for a cause that matters, incredible things happen."
A Day of Inspiration
The program featured exceptional keynote presentations from high-calibre speakers who travelled from across the country to share their expertise. Kylie Brennan from Sydney's Kylie Brennan Coaching, Sarah Yip and Fleur Scott from Brisbane's Kease International, and local powerhouse Tara Bradbury from Active Agents Hervey Bay each brought unique insights and energy to the stage. Master of Ceremonies Lizzie Macaulay from Bigger Picture Business Solutions guided attendees through the day with efficiency and good humour.
A mesmerising performance by Marta Bellydance captivated the entire audience, adding a beautiful cultural dimension that perfectly complemented the day's celebratory atmosphere.
The Impact of Generosity
For Fraser Coast Hospice, this donation represents far more than numbers. "This extraordinary support will make a tangible difference to the lives of terminally ill adults and their families in our region," said Alicia Trimingham-Turl, our CEO-Director of Care. "Every dollar raised at EmpowerHer directly supports our most vulnerable community members during their final days, from specialist nursing care to home-cooked meals, bereavement support to the comfort of a peaceful, home-like environment."
The silent auction buzzed with competitive bidding throughout the day, featuring generous prizes from Power Bookkeeping Solutions, Island View Connect, Hervey Bay Hat Co, Upholster My Ride, Inspire Associates & Co, Occasions by the Bay, The Business Confidante, Kylie Brennan Coaching, Thrive Admin Services, and Advice Centre.
Looking Ahead
Planning is already underway for EmpowerHer 2026, which promises to build on this year's remarkable success with additional speakers and fresh topics designed to inspire and empower. If this year taught us anything, it's that we truly are unstoppable together.
To Kylie Hunt, BiziWomen Connect, every speaker, sponsor, attendee, and supporter: thank you for choosing to make a difference. Your generosity ensures that when our community's most vulnerable members need compassionate care, it will be there.
